Maine Social Security Summer Events - All Are Welcome

Social Security

This summer, AARP Maine is marking a major milestone—the 90th anniversary of Social Security —with free and fun celebrations you won't want to miss! We're combining sweet treats, history, outdoor activities and meaningful conversations all summer long and we hope you will join us.

Ninety years ago on August 14, 1935, our nation made a promise: to provide hardworking Americans with a foundation for financial security in retirement. Since then, Social Security has never missed a payment - delivering the money earned with every paycheck to generations of families across Maine and the nation. On behalf of the nearly 200,000 AARP members in our state, we invite you to join us as we celebrate this milestone and reflect on Social Security’s extraordinary legacy.

Please join us for any or all of our events, and feel free to bring a friend. All are welcome.

Get the Scoop on Social Security at our Ice Cream Socials

At these events we invite our community to join us with a complimentary small ice cream and ‘get the scoop’ on the latest information about the Social Security program.
